THE ASK

Collaborate with a group to create a fashion forecast for the fall/winter season 2025’. This forecast should be made up of a concept board, color pallette, color stories, influences, and target market. Include fabrics, trims, and details in your slides as well as street style, runway, and key item examples.

THE PROCESS

I worked closely with my group members to first research world events, past/future trends, what’s affecting consumers buying habits, color and silhouette trends, and target market. We arranged for multiple meetings with in the semester that would work well with everyone’s schedule. We agreed on the concept of “Mind Over Matter: Wearing the World”. We predict that our target market will prioritize taking a holistic approach to fashion by preserving the health of not only our bodies but our home, the earth. Our inspirations were people like Stella McCartney, fashion brands like L.L. Bean and Free People, and books like “Hatchet”. After forming our target market, color palette, and color stories we worked on finding examples of ideal fabrics, trims, and Details. We consulted with each other through every step of the process to confirm that we stayed consistent and efficient. All together we discussed runway looks, street style looks, and key items we wanted to include in our presentation. Lastly, we came together and designed a harmonious slide deck that aligned with our concept and solidified our forecast.

THE FORECAST


"Mind over Matter" forecasts a societal shift towards holistic fashion and lifestyle choices, emphasizing a deep connection to the Earth while in an environmental crises. Consumers are demanding accessible, environmentally responsible clothing that seamlessly integrates into their lives, driving brands to innovate with natural materials like mushroom and cactus textiles. However, misinformation surrounding environmental issues clouds consumer psyche, highlighting the need for clarity and authenticity. This cultural transformation prioritizes experiences over products and quality over quantity, reflecting a broader movement towards mindful consumption and empathy for the planet. As individuals and corporations recognize the importance of environmental health, there's a growing expectation for accountability and sustainability across all aspects of life, from fashion to food and leisure.

Mind Over Matter Video

Although I produced this video, my group members and I equally conceptualized to generate a video that stood out to people. We decided to show the good parts of earth and the bad parts that are affected by the fashion industry. We wanted these scenes to feel like an uplifting tv show that cuts in and out to the horrors of fast-fashion and over-consumption.
