FASHION REVOLUTION CAMPAIGN

Fashion Revolutions vision is to see a global fashion industry that conserves and restores the environment and values people over growth and profit. This is a statement that I strongly resonate with and want to put forth my efforts into making this a possible future. I first learned about Fashion Revolution in my Fashion and Sustainability class. Where I was assigned to collaborate with group members to create a campaign for Fashion Revolutions Manifesto. My team members and I wanted create a compelling way to teach people about Fashion Revolution and ask them to sign the manifesto. After brainstorming we decided to use free second-hand clothes as an incentive for people learn about the manifesto and sign it.

Campaign Strategy

We set up our table in the middle of campus, Monroe Park, where the most foot traffic is. We used colorful posters and signs that said “free clothes” or had details about the Manifesto to intrigue people. We also had QR codes printed and layed out for people to scan and be easily directed to the Manifesto sign up page. Flyers were also made and passed around the park to people interested. Background music was playing as we educated people about Fashion Revolution and allowed them to take a piece of used clothing if they signed the Manifesto. People were excited about this incentive but I was surprised how many people stayed to learn more.

After the event was over we still advertised the Manifesto until the sign up was closed. We marketed this in a couple of different ways on social media including Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. This allowed us the opportunity to hit markets we wouldn’t have been exposed to on campus. We were only able to calculate the sign ups that were done in person but after the event we counted over 60 signatures and had over 30 pieces of second-hand clothes find a new home.

We used social media to market the campaign and allow people to sign the manifesto at the comforts of their home. One of our group members even had her instagram story reposted by Fashion Revolutions instagram page.

Here is the TikTok we made to summarize our event efforts. We still had a couple days to spread the word about the manifesto so we mentioned and linked it in the caption for all the viewers.
